As a leading strategy and management consultancy, you will help us shape the future of the public sector – together with top clients at federal, state, and municipal level. In addition, we work with leading clients in the Automotive & Transport and Energy & Environment sectors. Using state-of-the-art tools and methods, we support established organizations in mastering their transformation challenges.

This position is available at our Berlin or Hamburg offices.

What to Expect

At accilium, you will help build something big. As a Partner in the Public Sector, you will play a key role in expanding our consulting business with public institutions, state-owned enterprises, and municipal organizations – particularly in Northern Germany (Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen, Hamburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania).

You will design and lead groundbreaking transformation projects that drive digitalization, modernization, and innovation for our clients in these regions.

With your entrepreneurial mindset, deep understanding of public structures, and strategic vision, you will significantly contribute to the development of our portfolio. At the same time, you will foster talented teams and shape a culture of excellence and public value.

Your Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Independently lead sales initiatives, build new client relationships, and drive the growth of our Public Sector business.

  • Strategic Leadership: Shape the direction of our Public Sector practice with a focus on digitalization, administrative modernization, and implementation of political programs.

  • Client Advisory: Provide strategic consulting to public institutions on topics such as digitalization strategies, funding management, process optimization, and regulatory compliance.

  • Project Management: Manage complex projects in the public sector, ensuring excellent results, adherence to timelines, and client satisfaction.

  • Market Presence: Represent accilium at industry events and conferences, strengthening our position as a thought leader in the public sector.

  • Team Development: Foster the growth of our consulting teams and establish a performance-driven, collaborative work culture.

What You Should Bring

  • Education: A completed university degree – ideally in Public Management, Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional Experience: At least 9 years of experience in management consulting or in a senior leadership role within the public sector – with a strong consulting focus.

  • Network: Direct and trusted access to decision-makers at selected target clients.

  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of administrative structures, digitalization initiatives, and transformation processes in the public sector.

  • Business Development: Proven track record of successfully acquiring new clients and projects in the public domain.

  • Market Knowledge: Familiarity with key stakeholders, funding mechanisms, and reform trends in the public sector, particularly in the DACH region.

  • Project Experience: Demonstrated experience in:

    • Public administration digitalization

    • Strategy development and implementation

    • Process optimization and change management

    • Funding and stakeholder management

  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead with clarity, empathy, and strategic vision while fostering sustainable team development.

  • Language Skills: Fluent in German and English (at least C1 according to CEFR).

  • Willingness to Travel: Availability for travel within the DACH region.
